428 Woodward Avenue | Grant Park

NEIGHBORHOOD PREVIEW EVENT!

Thursday, November 29, 2012 | 5:00-7:00 PM

Grant Park residents have been watching 428 Woodward Avenue for years as it sat boarded up and neglected.  Then, in June 2012, Green Stone Design purchased the property and began the large-scale restoration of this grand Victorian home.  “This is one of our largest projects and we wanted to maintain the historic appeal of the home”, says Maura Mitzner, Owner and President of Green Stone Design, Inc.  “Many times, the original architectural components of a home have been removed and we aren’t able to keep much that was original to the home.  In this case, we had several key features to work with and tried to do a thoughtful renovation with those features in mind.”

When Green Stone Design purchased the home, it was full of old architectural antiques (some original to the home, many were not) and furniture.  Before the renovation could begin, Green Stone Design and Red Robin Group Real Estate teamed up to hold an antique sale in July.  Many neighbors came to the sale to see the home “before” the renovation and purchase a small piece of neighborhood history.

Melissa Wakamo, Broker of Red Robin Group comments, “There are so many neighbors who have been watching this project and we’re happy to be nearing the finish line!   Before this home hits the market for sale, we wanted to make sure all of our neighbors, friends and general supporters have a chance to see the home.”

Green Stone Design and Red Robin Group are sponsoring a special Neighborhood Preview Event on Thursday evening, November 29th from 5:00 -7:00.  Please feel free to bring guests!  For more information, contact Red Robin Group at www.redrobingroup.com
