Warm Reception at the 428 Woodward Ave Neighborhood Event

It was a full house of neighbors at the 428 Woodward Avenue Preview Event on Thursday, November 29th. The once boarded up and neglected Victorian at the corner of Woodward and Cherokee Avenues was the hot place to be last week. Visitors enjoyed food and drinks while meandering through the house, catching up with neighbors, and meeting the builders, Maura and Kendall of Green Stone Design, Inc.

“This is one of our largest projects and we wanted to maintain the historic appeal of the home”, says Maura Mitzner, Owner and President of Green Stone Design.  Many neighbors noticed their attention to detail and commented on the thoughtful restoration of the original staircase, pocket doors, and fireplaces. The key architectural feature of the home is this lovely grand staircase.

Other well received features included the contemporary color palette, custom lighting, and refinished original floors.

A favorite room was the chef’s kitchen complete with a marble backsplash, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances, featuring a 40″ professional series double oven with gas range. Just like any festive gathering, people grabbed a drink and lingered in the kitchen and caught up with friends and neighbors.

It was a hugely successful event and we appreciated the warm reception from the neighborhood.  Subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Facebook to find out about similar events in the future.
